Renovated Old Saw Mill building
Java Been is a coffee business built on the mission to create authentic community spaces. Java Been's newest building is located on the river and used to be an Old Saw Mill building that was renovated into a cafe, galleries, study spaces, and event spaces.
1 How can I sign up to exhibit my artwork at Java Been?.
- Artists are assigned monthly, and sometimes we are booked out months in advance. If you are interested in being a featured artist, please stop by and speak with Jenna.
2 Is coffee, like produce, seasonal?.
- Yes! Furthermore, like seasonal produce, coffee is best when it is freshest from the farms on which it is grown. Across most of the Northern Hemisphere, the harvest is busiest during our winter months. Therefore, we introduce these northern season coffees to our menu beginning in spring. Southern Hemisphere coffees are generally harvested in late spring and early summer. These southern season coffees find their way onto our menu starting in the fall.
3 What’s the difference between a blend and a single-origin coffee?.
- Single-origin coffees are sourced from a specific place, whether estates, family-owned farms, or communities served by farmer organizations. Blends showcase coffees from different places that we combine with great care and intention so they can work in concert to highlight a distinct flavor..
